The Aims: To give staff the skills and knowledge to take various water samples ie. bacti dissolved metals etc. so to reduce the taking of unsatisfactory samples that can result in a vast waste of time and great expense to the water companies.

Objectives:

• Correct selection of sample taps.

• Disinfection of sample taps.

• Taking samples from fire hydrants.

• Various sample bottles recognition.

• Label requirements.

• Using comparators Lovibond Hach. for chlorine PH.

• Lab returning procedures.

Additional information: The lecturer required the individual water companies to provide a variety of sample bottles and their own sampling method statement, as these vary from company to company.
