The Aims of the course is to provide delegates with the skills and the knowledge to carry out water mains disinfection techniques using chlorination equipment that will automatically dose the required level of chlorine as laid down by the water industry. This course is for Staff that has never carried out chlorination procedures before.

• The overseers of the water industry and the consequence if the chlorination procedure fails
• The safe use of Hypochlorite in association with C.O.S.H.H.
• The safe discharge and de-chlorination procedure
• The use of comparators to measure Low and high chlorine levels and CL2 % and PH.
• Chlorination techniques for OXO and direct injection.
• Mathematical calculations for the chlorination process.
• The use of computer software for calculations and machine control where applicable.
• The principals of the chlorination machines and their limitations.
• Practical exercises with the chlorinators.
• Multi choice question paper.
