The Aims: To give staff the skills and knowledge of Cleaning and Disinfection of Service Reservoirs as per water company's codes of practices. To gain entry and exit from service reservoirs to comply with the Confined Space Regulations 1997. To set up chlorination machines to ensure not to over chlorinate the disinfection process putting the operator in an unsatisfactory environment. To cover the safe discharge and neutralization of chlorinated water. The refill process.
Objectives:
- The safe draining of service reservoirs.
- The ingress and egress of service reservoirs as per confined spaces regulations.
- The correct use of personnel protective equipment.
- The cleaning of disinfection techniques of service reservoirs.
- The setting up of the chlorination machines.
- The monitoring of chlorine levels of the disinfection water.
- The filling techniques as per water company's codes of practices.
Duration:2 Days
Numbers: Min of 4/Max of 8 delegates
Additional information: Delegates should hold a valid Confined Space Certificate and bring with them personal safety equipment.
Confined space equipment should be made available for the entry into a service reservoir.
A reservoir should be made available to carry out the disinfection process.
NB. If a reservoir has to be cleaned as well it will add a considerable amount of time to the course duration.
