Area Residual Boosting by flow proportional direct injection using the LSL Chlorinator incorporating the use of flow probes.

The Aims:

To provide staff with the skills and knowledge to install and calibrate the flow probe into a water main, set all the computer parameters for the flow computer and monitor the chlorine residuals using comparators.  

Objectives:

• Install the probe into a water main using the center line method or mean axial method.

• Connect the chlorine injector into a water main.

• Using computer software calculate all the relevant parameters chlorine concentration, flows etc.

• Dilute the dose chemical to prevent residual chlorine slugging.

• Load software into the flow computer suing hyper link program.

• Monitor chlorine levels and trim as necessary.

• Upload date into chlorinator using the smart card.

• Download data from the smart card into a computer and interpret the data.

Duration: 1 day for operators that are familiar with the chlorinators, and 2 days if pre training has to be carried out on the chlorinator.
